"In view of the major challenge of climate protection, the German government has committed to achieving climate protection targets at international and European level. National greenhouse gas reduction targets have been set by law for all sectors. In the transport sector, greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced to around 85 million tons of CO2 by 2030. In order to achieve this target, a common path towards climate-friendly, sustainable and affordable mobility for all and a sustainable transformation of technologies, the economy and society are needed. The Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport Affairs (BMDV) has set up the Expert Advisory Council on Climate Protection in Mobility (EKM) to evaluate climate protection measures.
